Remote Procedure Calls serve as lightweight software communication protocols. They facilitate communication between a program (referred to as the client) and a remote program (referred to as the server) hosted on a separate network. The unique advantage of RPCs is that they enable this communication without requiring the client to possess intricate details about the server's network.
An RPC node is a blockchain client software (e.g. a server) running both an execution layer and consensus layer infrastructure for the Ethereum blockchain.
