The Alephium testnet serves as a sandbox environment for developers and users to explore the functionalities of the Alephium blockchain before deploying on the mainnet. It provides access to various applications and tools, including the Extension Wallet, which can be installed from the Chrome and Firefox stores, allowing users to manage their testnet funds and interact with dApps. The Testnet Block Explorer enables tracking of transactions, blocks, and network activity. Users can also engage with an NFT Marketplace for minting and trading NFTs and a DEX prototype, which facilitates decentralized trading of assets on Alephium. Additionally, the Alephium-Ethereum Bridge, built on Wormhole, enables asset transfers between Alephium and Ethereum's Goerli testnet.
On May 15, 2024, Alephium introduced the Rhône upgrade on testnet, enhancing network infrastructure for better performance, security, and user experience. Future updates include tutorials on minting tokens and using the bridge.
